Vault of Evil #20
In "Quogg!", a scientist's experiment with a legendary golden serum goes unexpectedly right when he administers it to his dog—turning everything the animal touches into gold, which he uses to help others. But when a greedy intruder breaks in and frees the dog, chaos ensues as the creature’s touch transforms both men in a moment of desperate struggle. Bernie Krigstein’s stark, expressive art brings the eerie, ironic tale to life, while Ron Wilson and Mike Esposito’s cover captures the story’s unsettling twist. A 25-cent comic from 1975, this issue stands out for its unique take on myth and greed.
