Vasco returns in this 2015 Le Lombard album, "La Cité ensevelie" — and the cover alone sets a breathless tone. Rousseau's artwork plunges us into what appears to be an ancient collapsing city, where a striking, jewel-adorned woman dominates the foreground amid a crowd of panicked figures, while flames and crumbling classical columns fill the smoky background. It's a richly detailed, dramatically lit scene that showcases Rousseau's full range as both penciller and inker, with Chantal Defachelle's colors lending the chaos a vivid, almost cinematic warmth.
