The eleventh volume of Gilles Chaillet's historical adventure series takes Vasco into the heart of "Het verboden keizerrijk" — the Forbidden Empire. Chaillet's cover plunges us into an opulent, mysterious setting where a cloaked young man and two children stand before a towering, imperious statue flanked by golden lion guardians and an ornate dragon sculpture, the whole scene radiating a sense of forbidden grandeur and barely contained danger. It's a beautifully composed glimpse of the Far Eastern world that has long made Vasco one of Belgian comics' most visually rewarding series.
