Part of DC's mature-readers Vertigo line, this second chapter of Elaine Lee and William Simpson's six-issue series crackles with menace right from its Brian Bolland cover — a wild-haired vampiress bares her fangs and leans hard into a red motorcycle, her bat pendant catching the headlight's glow as she bears down on the viewer. Bolland's precision linework makes the chrome handlebars and the rider's ferocious expression equally sharp, striking exactly the right balance between glamour and threat. "Wind Riders" promises the open road with a very dark passenger behind the throttle.
