Vampirella / Red Sonja #4

A hooded Red Sonja crouches warily among the gnarled branches of a crimson-washed forest, sword and shield in hand, while a gaunt, dark-robed figure looms behind her wielding a staff — a striking study in tension rendered by Julian Totino Tedesco with a moody, painterly atmosphere. The desaturated palette punctuated by deep pinks and reds gives the scene an almost fairy-tale dread that suits this crossover between two of comics' most enduring warrior women.
