“Thinking About My Life”

In "Thinking About My Life," Tessa faces the quiet weight of her past as she tries to build a new life after prison, guided by a probation officer who becomes an unexpected thread in her growing connection with John. When John invites her to meet his landlady, the visit takes an unexpected turn—her probation officer is there, too, and the truth about their shared role in John’s life begins to unfold. Illustrated with emotional precision by Julio Vivas, this poignant story explores trust, second chances, and the quiet moments that shape who we become.

Tessa had fallen in with a bad lot and served three months for shoplifting. Although her dad had written her off, her probation officer helped her get a job and place to live when she got out. When Tessa met John, her probation officer advised her to be honest with him about her prison background, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. When John invites Tessa to meet his landlady, another visitor arrives who is Tessa's probation officer. Only later does Tessa learn that her probation officer is also John's probation officer.
