Valentine #30 May 1970
In "Running Out of Time," a quiet moment at Keith's house sparks something unexpected when Sharon ventures into the overgrown garden next door and meets Steve, the reclusive son of the property's owner. While her friends enjoy themselves, Sharon finds herself drawn to Steve's introspective nature—until a sudden fire at his crumbling home forces her to confront the contrast between his resignation and her friends' energetic response. With art by Francesc Monjo, this 1970 IPC issue captures a subtle, poignant shift in perspective, all rendered in the distinctive style of its creator.

As the gang has fun at Keith's place, Sharon is intrigued by the overgrown garden next door. She wanders in and meets the owner's son, Steve. He dislikes his shallow neighbours, but flatters Sharon. They meet again and Sharon also worries that her friends are shallow. When Stephen's dilapidated house catches fire, he is passive and accepting. Sharon's friends jump into action and carry buckets of water until the fire brigade arrive. Sharon realises Stephen is afraid of life and returns to her lively friends.
