Valentine #27 September 1969
In "Faces in the Sun...", Robert and Valerie return from America, their warnings about an assassination plot dismissed. When the head of state of Maralia steps off the plane, Valerie spots the same soldiers from a deadly ambush—now part of the guard of honour. As Robert moves to stop the threat, the tension mounts in a moment that echoes their past. Afterward, with his arm bandaged, Valerie quietly stands beside him—no longer resisting, but choosing to stay. The story’s tense, grounded drama unfolds in bold, expressive art by Jordi Franch Cubells, whose distinctive style brings every shadow and glance to life. A 7d comic from September 1969, it captures a pivotal turn in their journey.
