Iris wanted a holiday in France, but Alan objects and wins... as usual. When she sees him kissing another girl underwater through a glass-sided swimming pool, she confronts him but he tells her she has driven him into the other girl's arms. The holiday takes a turn for Iris when she meets a man with a French accent named Pierre. The holiday is a dream and Pierre eventually proposes. Iris accepts, but at that moment 'Pierre's' wife breaks in. 'Pierre' isn't really a Frenchman, but a married English waiter.
