Drake gets lost when he leaves the road and begins to think he is the only man in the world until he meets Mary. He calls her Friday after the Robinson Crusoe story and enjoys the country life for the first time in his life. They fall in love, but have a conflict when he expects her to join him in London. She eventually gives in and goes to London. She feels alone until she sees Drake and realizes she belongs in his arms.
