“Hold Me Tight”

In "Hold Me Tight," Jean finds herself caught in a web of unexpected attention when the town’s wealthiest man takes an interest in her—so much so that she turns to advice columnist 'Aunt Clarinda' for guidance. The letter she sends sets off a chain of events that leads to heartbreak and a surprising revelation: the beloved advice giver is actually a man who knew Nigel’s true nature all along. Jordi Franch Cubells delivers the story with sharp, expressive art in this 1964 issue, a 6d gem from IPC.

When the richest man in town starts paying attention to her, Jean writes to newspaper advice columnist 'Aunt Clarinda' to get advice. Eventually, the advice causes Nigel to break off from Jean and she decides to confront 'Aunt Clarina' about the advice. When she bursts into the office, she discovers that 'Aunt Clarina' is a man. He personally knew Nigel to be a worthless no-good and deliberately gave her advice that would break them up.
