As their romance deepens, rumors stir, and Linda must confront the truth behind Frankie’s image—leading her to reevaluate not just him, but the way she sees herself. Linda meets Frankie at the garage her father uses. He sweeps her off her feet and she soon agrees to marry him. While Linda initially ignores the rumours that Frankie is fooling around, she finds out it is true and leaves to stay with her Aunt Elsie. Frankie follows and Linda learns to stop worshipping him as a hero and understand him as a real person. He's been afraid because he can't live up to her worship.
