Mary's ward is forced to sell her father's precious statuary, but on impulse she jumps in the van of the buyer and drives off. Her escape doesn't last long as she drives the van off the road. The owner is sympathetic after hearing her story about the statue's sentimental value, but when they go back to the wrecked van, the statue is gone.
