“Runaway”

"Runaway" in Valentine #19 (September 1970, 9d) captures a quiet turning point in the lives of dancer Sharon and producer Simon, whose careful plans for a no-strings farewell begin to unravel. When Sharon attends her cousin Liz’s wedding—where she witnesses a whirlwind romance and overhears Simon’s secret conversation with Caroline—she’s struck by a sudden, unexpected longing. A moment at the reception, shared with a friend of Drew’s, sets her on a new path, one where love and commitment might finally feel right. Art by Pérez, with inks by Pérez and typeset lettering.
