“Those Sad Green Eyes...”

In "Those Sad Green Eyes...", a snowstorm strands a coach full of passengers in an abandoned house, forcing Jon and Joanne to venture out on skis in search of help. When they stumble in the snow, a quiet moment turns tender—Jon kisses Joanne, then abruptly pulls away, haunted by a promise to return to London and his unseen girlfriend. As Joanne urges him to follow through, Jon hesitates, caught between duty and something deeper. The story, illustrated with delicate precision by Francisco Masip, captures a fleeting, bittersweet tension in a frozen landscape.

A snow storm has held up the coach on the way to London and the passengers have taken refuge in an empty house. Jon finds a couple of pairs of skis and Joanne accompanies him to find a village nearby. When they fall in the snow, he kisses her. But as soon as the kiss happens, he's back up on his skis and says he promised his girlfriend he would get back to London. Joanne wants Jon to go after him, but he seems afraid to go outside.
