Valentine #12 September 1970
In "Summer Ends…Dreams Begin," Tammy and Steve face a sudden deadline when Steve books the hotel ballroom for a fashion parade—without the £800 to pay for it. As tensions rise, Tammy discovers Steve’s urgent plans: a last-minute show for Hickenborm, seven dresses to be made by midday, and a high-stakes gamble to secure financing from textiles man Bertie Goldwater. With the ballroom booking now set for midday and Mrs Bates committed to alterations, the duo races against time in a whirlwind of charm and quick thinking. Art by Enrique Montserrat, this 1970 IPC issue captures the urgency and glamour of a dream on the brink.
