Eva's father runs a large business, but she thinks of herself as a plain little mouse. She goes to meet her father for her birthday lunch, but he is busy so he asks his new personal assistant to take his place. She enjoys being with him, but worries about the gossip that he is just sucking up to the boss's daughter to get ahead. Intending to surprise him, she sees him embracing her father's secretary. But as Eva watches from behind the door, he pushes Jane away and reveals that he really is in love with Eva and would like to ask her to marry him.
