“Please Don't Tease”

In "Please Don't Tease," Patty is haunted by memories of the old millhouse as it faces demolition, stirring up feelings from her past with Grant and Jim. Though she now plans to marry Jim, a quiet certainty lingers that she was always meant for Grant, whose dreams of the sea have left her caught between loyalty and longing. Art by Josep Maria Miralles, this poignant 1960 tale captures the bittersweet ache of youth, memory, and the choices that shape a life.

Hearing that the old millhouse was being torn down, Patty remembered the days growning up with Grant and Jim. As they got older, it was still the three of them but she always knew she was Grant's girl. But Grant had always said he wanted to join the navy and see the world. Over time, Patty became Jim's girl and they were planning to get married, but Patty feels deep inside that she is still Grant's girl.
