Alison sees Hal at the airport, day after day. She offers help and hears his story—the girl he met and fell in love with in Canada hasn't arrived. If he doesn't meet her at the airport she won't know how to find him. Alison had lost Roger in a plane crash; she understands Hal's loss and offers him company. She begins to fall for him and they agree to meet again. The next day, Alison sees a girl at the airport lost and lonely. She's considers leaving Lisa there, but knows she couldn't live with her conscience if she gets Hal that way.
