From French publisher Mosquito, this 2017 volume of Ut presents the second chapter of Roi & Barbato — subtitled Les Hommes s'en vont, les enragés restent ("The Men leave, the enraged remain"). The cover is a striking, painterly composition featuring two seated figures: a weathered, masked or disfigured older man in a worn jacket alongside a sharp-eyed young woman with vivid green hair and bandaged hands, the two rendered in a moody watercolor palette against a stark striped background. There's a quiet tension between the pair that feels genuinely compelling, and the subdued yet expressive artwork makes this edition a fine showcase of European comics craft.
