Unknown Soldier #258
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeJoe Kubert's cover for this December 1981 DC issue delivers a visceral, vertigo-inducing image: the bandage-faced Unknown Soldier clings desperately to the rim of a massive bell as an explosion erupts beneath him and armed soldiers close in below. The tagline "Ask Not for Whom the Bell of Death Tolls… It Tolls for Thee!" frames the scene with a sense of grim, literary weight that perfectly suits this long-running war series. Inside, writer Bob Haney and artist Dick Ayers take the story from there with "His Eye Is on the Sparrow!" — a promising setup for another chapter in one of DC's most enduring wartime titles.
