Faith Erin Hicks and colorist Lee Loughridge craft a genuinely unsettling cover for this second issue of Image's Universal Monsters series — a young woman in a black dress walks calmly through a museum doorway flanked by Egyptian statues, while the enormous, glowing-eyed face of the Mummy looms in the archway behind her, his bandaged visage filling the entire frame. The contrast between her composed stride and that towering, ancient presence creates a quiet dread that's hard to shake. A great sign that this modern reimagining of the classic monster has real visual confidence heading into its second chapter.
