"Fritzi Ritz" by Ernie Bushmiller depicts Fritzi receiving a souvenir wood carver from a friend and innocently showing it to her date Charlie, who becomes jealous and lectures her about wasteful spending until she reveals she's keeping the carving in an "appropriate place"—a cuckoo clock. "Abbie an' Slats" presents a dramatic tale in which a musical conductor is murdered, an explosion destroys the town hall, and characters discuss the incident and its connection to unpaid debts and financial trouble in the community. The issue also includes a Fritzi Ritz feature displaying fashions of the future, depicting various women's outfits and styles projected for years 1954 through 1970, showing how Fritzi imagines fashion will evolve.
