This anthology issue contains three stories. "Fritzi Ritz" by Ernie Bushmiller follows the titular character as Phil offers her a dinner invitation, but she declines, claiming to be on a diet; when Phil suggests she will become skinny if she keeps dieting, Fritzi cannot decide which is worse—being fat or thin—and asks Phil to help her choose. In "Abbie an' Slats" by Raeburn Van Buren, Pop offers Slats a job helping Becky with her elderly, wealthy father who is recovering from illness; Slats agrees to take the man on a boat trip for the day, but the boat goes missing, leading to a search that culminates in Slats and the old man being rescued after thirty years, having been stranded and living on an island. In another "Fritzi Ritz" story, Fritzi moves to a new neighborhood and shows Phil her new pictures; when a passing truck causes the pictures on the wall to become crooked, Phil suggests straightening them, but Fritzi notes this happens every time a truck passes.
