With help from Buddy Smith, Hercules, Neon, Quicksilver, The Ray, and The Black Condor, he convinces the rogue villains that their true purpose is to challenge heroes—because without foes, there can be no heroes, and without heroes, no stories for the kids.
When King Killer escapes from custody and orchestrates a fake gold rush to distract the authorities, Uncle Sam and Buddy Smith pursue the world's mightiest criminal to Ghost City—where the villain's murderous rampage through the town puts the young hero directly in the line of fire. As King Killer unleashes a brutal assault on the jail and the town itself, Uncle Sam and Buddy must stand together to stop the criminal's devastation before innocents are caught in the crossfire.
