Uncanny X-Men #3
Magneto dominates this striking cover by Greg Land and Nolan Woodard, his weathered face cold and calculating beneath the gleaming helmet as he raises two blood-soaked hands toward the viewer — an image that speaks volumes about the moral weight this series places on its complicated protagonist. Writer Cullen Bunn, with art by Land, inks by Jay Leisten, and colors by Woodard, continues to frame Magneto as a figure for whom the cost of protecting mutantkind is measured in something far darker than good intentions. If you've been following this 2016 run, issue #3 makes it clear that the line between protector and threat has rarely felt this unsettling.
