This March 1957 Atlas anthology delivers a wonderfully eerie setup right on its cover, where a sharply dressed man in a yellow fedora and his smiling companion seem blissfully unaware that a lurching creature made entirely of mud is rampaging through the city streets behind them. Bill Everett's cover art captures that delicious mid-century monster-comic contrast — breezy romance in the foreground, pure chaos in the background as panicked figures flee the towering mud beast. With "All Brand-New Tales!" promised inside and Stan Goldberg's coloring giving the scene a moody twilight palette, this one is a fine example of why Atlas horror anthologies kept readers coming back for more.
