“I Found the Mad Universe!”

In "I Found the Mad Universe!", a desperate spy races against time to escape both the authorities and enemy agents, believing a moon-bound rocket is his only chance at survival—though he doesn’t realize the craft is far too small to carry a human. Written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Russ Heath, this 1975 Marvel tale blends Cold War tension with a touch of cosmic wonder, all wrapped in a striking cover by Ed Hannigan and Frank Giacoia.

A spy fails in his effort to steal an element required in the construction of a hydrogen bomb so he knows he faces death if caught by the police or the Communists. He reads of a rocket to the moon and thinks if he can get aboard that he will be safe, but he doesn't realize the test rocket is not large enough to hold a human passenger.
