This first volume of the series adapts the opening chapters of Michel Folco's historical novel, set in 16th-century France. It follows the tumultuous childhood of a young boy named Chien-de-la-Lune, born into a family of executioners, as he navigates a world of superstition, violence, and social exclusion. The graphic novel, illustrated by Christophe Gaultier, faithfully renders the gritty period detail and darkly comic tone of the source material.
