Ultimate Spider-Man #11
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeUltimate Spider-Man (Vol. 3) #11 marks the first appearance of the Ultimate Universe's Mysterio (Quentin Beck) and the first full appearance of Felicia Hardy on Earth-6160 — two debuts that significantly expand Kingpin's Sinister Six roster in Jonathan Hickman's reimagined continuity. The issue deepens one of Hickman's most resonant structural conceits: in this universe, the Black Cat mantle is a father-daughter criminal dynasty rather than a solo identity, with wheelchair-bound Walter Hardy handing his territory — and his codename — to Felicia, who will become a pivotal figure through the rest of the run. Set within a series that outsold every other Spider-Man title for eleven of its first twelve months of publication, the issue also advances the theme of Ben Parker as a knowing, morally grounded anchor, with his quiet acknowledgment of Peter and Harry's vigilante double-lives carrying enormous emotional weight in Hickman's long-game storytelling.

Issue #11 falls squarely within the second arc of Jonathan Hickman's series (issues #7–12, collected as 'The Paper'), in which regular penciler Marco Checchetto handed interior art duties to David Messina for two issues of the arc — #11 being one of them — while Checchetto remained on covers. Matthew Wilson colored and Cory Petit lettered, with editors Wil Moss and Michelle Marchese shepherding the issue under editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski. The series itself grew out of Hickman's own Ultimate Invasion miniseries, which established the radically altered Earth-6160 status quo that the book inhabits; Hickman has stated publicly that the entire run — ultimately 24 issues — was executed exactly as he originally pitched it.
