Ultimate Black Panther #22
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeIssue #22 of the 2024–2026 Ultimate Black Panther series lands as one of the most narratively dense chapters in Bryan Hill's run on Earth-6160, paying off a long-seeded plot thread with Storm's pregnancy and the revelation that her child is being treated by the Vodu-Khan as a prophesied gateway to a new—and potentially catastrophic—age for Wakanda. The goddess Bast steps forward to disclose a previously hidden bond linking T'Challa, Killmonger, and Storm together beyond their love triangle, recontextualizing the series' central relationships in its penultimate stretch. With only two issues remaining before the Ultimate Universe concluded entirely in 2026, this issue represents one of the final major character revelations in the entire Earth-6160 experiment—making it a structural keystone for understanding how Hill chose to close out a politically ambitious, Dune-inflected reimagining of the Black Panther mythology.

The series was conceived by writer Bryan Hill and artist Stefano Caselli as the second title launched in Marvel's revived Ultimate Universe imprint, overseen by Jonathan Hickman, debuting in February 2024. Hill has cited Frank Herbert's Dune alongside A Song of Ice and Fire as primary structural inspirations, particularly in his creation of the Vodu-Khan, the Wakandan mystic priestesses who echo the Bene Gesserit in their prophetic and advisory roles. Issue #22 was written by Hill with interior art by fill-in artist Carlos Nieto—who had contributed to earlier issues as well—cover art by series regular Stefano Caselli, and colors by David Curiel; it was edited under C.B. Cebulski's tenure as Editor-in-Chief. The series ran for 24 issues total, concluding in early 2026 as the broader Ultimate Universe line came to an end.
