Uchronie(s) New York #2
The second chapter of Corbeyran and Djillali Defali's alternate-history series brings us "Resonanties," a quietly tense installment in the Uchronie(s) New York saga. Defali's cover sets a watchful, uneasy mood: a young Black woman sits on the grass holding a handgun, her expression guarded, while a heavyset older man stands behind her against a backdrop of a suburban house bathed in warm sepia tones. The pairing of these two figures — alert, purposeful, and clearly bound by circumstance — makes this 2010 Belgian album a compelling addition to any alt-history collection.
