U.S. Jones, a patriotic superhero, battles Nazi forces who have developed a destructive ray gun based on a stolen formula; the gun can blast metal at a distance of three miles and is intended for use against American aircraft. Jones infiltrates the Nazi operation, recovers the formula, and thwarts their plans. The issue also includes a backup story featuring a submarine rescue operation in which a diver named Doug must descend two hundred feet underwater to disable a damaged vessel and save its crew from suffocation.
