An anthology of war stories featuring multiple narratives: "Operation Iceberg" follows Lieutenant Commander Skip Howard on a naval mission in North Korea, where his damaged plane must reach a carrier as fuel runs low. "The Borrowed MIG" tells of Lieutenant Jonas Washburn Smith, a World War One flying ace turned officer, who commandeers a MIG aircraft out of anger over starving Korean children to conduct a bombing run on enemy positions. "Barnstorm" centers on the reunion of Lieutenant Bernard Bentley with his former flying instructor at a new military station, leading to complications when the Colonel assigns Bentley to fly with his old mentor despite their history.
