Twenty Seven #1, written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Renzo Podesta, introduces Garland, a once-prominent rock guitarist whose career is derailed by a mysterious repetitive strain disorder in his left hand. Desperate for a cure, he turns to the enigmatic Hargrave Swinthe, who offers a radical solution: a strange device implanted in his chest that restores his talent—but with unsettling consequences. The cover by Renzo Podesta captures the eerie, high-stakes tone of a story where music and the occult collide.

Garland, a newly famous rock guitarist, suddenly has all his hopes dashed when he gets a repetitive strain disorder in his left hand.
