Turok and Andar are captured by Beaver Men, who live in half-submerged mounds. Suspecting the pair of being spies they plan to kill Turok and Andar, but Turok insists that he can lead them in slaying a dangerous honker (dinosaur) that repeatedly menaces them. Turok makes good by using a noose and concealed stakes, and coaching the Beaver Men to work together. Rightly suspecting that the Beaver Men will renege on their promise of freedom, Turok and Andar escape in the aftermath of the killing.
