Turok #3

The cover of this 2017 Dynamite issue says it all: a massive, roaring tyrannosaur looms over a sleek black muscle car while Turok — tomahawk in hand, a small bundled figure tucked under his arm — leaps through the air to meet the threat head-on, with an armed archer figure visible in the background for good measure. Aaron Lopresti's cover art for "Blood Hunt" packs an absurd amount of kinetic energy into a single image, blending prehistoric danger with a decidedly modern vehicle in a way that feels both pulpy and fresh. As part of The Sovereigns crossover, this Chuck Wendig-written issue also promises a Doctor Spektor back-up story, making it a particularly generous read.
