Enki Bilal's unmistakable visual style is on full display in this 2002 Polish edition of Kobieta pułapka, the second volume of the Nikopol Trilogy published by Egmont Polska. The cover draws you in immediately: a pale woman with vivid blue hair and deep blue lips holds up her hand as though warding something off, while a dark, bird-like creature looms in the mirror behind her and a brooding male figure watches from the shadows to the left. Bilal's cold, painterly palette and atmosphere of quiet dread make this an absorbing entry in one of European comics' most distinctive science-fiction sagas.
