Raymond tries to kill his drugged wife by driving their car into the river, jumping out and running away before it hits the water. But Lora had been walking home and sees the whole incident. Being an expert swimmer, she is able to save Mary. Lora initially wants to call the police, but Mary wants to make Raymond's life unbearable by getting Lora to tell him that she had seen what he did.
