Babs marries Alan despite her parents' objections. Their fears seem justified when she has to work to support them. At last, she walks out on him when she returns home to find him in a compromising embrace with another woman. But Babs and Alan really did love each other and eventually Babs decides she needs to see Alan again. She finds him to discover he has gotten involved in a gang and is scheduled to drive the getaway car for a bank-raid that evening. She talks him out of it, but they have to live on the run when newspapers report that someone had informed the police about the bank-raid.
