Through her job as a secretary at a theatrical agency, Tania meets and falls in love with actor Maxwell Lee. But her feelings are crushed when she discovers Max is married. She swears off love until her secretarial services are loaned out to brilliant young playwright Mervyn Hart. However, Mervyn's trust in Tania is shaken when it turns out his sister is actually Max's husband and Delia accuses Tania of being a slut with her husband.
