Clark Kent pretends to help a gang of crooks in order to uncover the identity of their leader. Lois Lane believes that Clark is in league with the crooks and stumbles into a meeting between the crooks and Clark. The crooks want to kill Lois but Clark convinces them to kidnap Lois as bait for Superman. As Superman comes to rescue Lois the crooks' leader states that he has a nasty surprise in store for Superman.
