Trials of Shazam #11
With only one issue remaining in this twelve-part saga, The Trials of Shazam! #11 arrives in March 2008 with Mauro Cascioli's striking painted cover setting a tense, fiery mood. Dominating the upper half are two imposing figures — a dark-armored antagonist and the red-caped, lightning-bolt-emblazoned Shazam — looming large over a cityscape engulfed in a massive explosion below. In the foreground, a dark-suited woman wielding glowing orbs stands over two bound, dangling children, with the ominous tagline "Mercury Poisoning" warning that the penultimate chapter of Judd Winick's run is anything but a smooth road to the finish line.
