Spider Jerusalem's shaved head fills the entire cover of this 2001 Vertigo "Late Edition," his mismatched two-tone glasses — one green lens, one red — dominating the composition, with a woman's face reflected in the red lens and a cigarette dangling from his lip. Matt Wagner's close-cropped portrait is quietly unsettling, turning Spider into a looming presence that feels equal parts journalist and threat. Warren Ellis, Darick Robertson, and Rodney Ramos bring their "Business" to the City, and this issue is a reminder of why Transmetropolitan remains one of Vertigo's most distinctive runs.
