Transformers #4

Part of IDW's "bold new era" for the franchise, this fourth issue presents a striking cover scene with Optimus Prime looming large in the foreground — the Autobot insignia prominent on his chest — while a gathering of fellow Autobots lines an elevated platform behind him and a few more stand watch below. The moody, neon-lit cityscape gives the whole image a sense of quiet tension, as if something significant is about to unfold. With Ruckley writing and Pitre-Durocher, Hernandez, and Griffith on art duties, this 2019 series continues to build its own compelling vision of Cybertron and the Transformers universe.
