Two animal criminals, Filo Fox and Christopher Catt, plan a robbery in Toytown while the town sleeps. The town's animal residents, including Mertie Mouse and her friends, discover the crime in progress and attempt to stop the robbers. After a series of confrontations, the mayor accuses Mertie Mouse of working with the criminals through blackmail, but Mertie and her friends ultimately prove their innocence and promise to help apprehend the real thieves.
