Torrent #4

Issue four of Image Comics' Torrent delivers a striking cover image: a battle-worn woman in a dark bodysuit — her costume torn and bloodied, sunglasses still firmly in place — stands coolly amid a field of defeated bodies, a cigarette (or similar object) dangling from her lips. Lurking in the shadowy background is a menacing masked figure with glowing yellow eyes, hinting at the dangerous world this series inhabits. Marc Guggenheim and Justin Greenwood, joined by colorist Rico Renzi and letterer Keith Wood, bring a gritty, lived-in energy to this 2023 Image series that makes it easy to see why Torrent has been turning heads.
