Volume 43 of Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro's Toriko sets the scene with a striking duo against a vivid backdrop of reddish earth and pink-blossomed trees — the towering, orange-clad Toriko with his massive backpack standing alongside his smaller, eager companion Komatsu. Shimabukuro's bold, energetic linework captures both the scale of Toriko's imposing frame and the warmth of their adventurous partnership in a single glance. A great pick-up from this 2018 Viz/Shonen Jump release for fans of the gourmet hunting epic.
