"The Life of Christ, Part Two" depicts key episodes from the Gospel narrative in comic form. The story begins with a rich young man asking Jesus what he must do to achieve eternal life, and Jesus responds by instructing him to keep the commandments and sell his possessions to give to the poor, promising treasure in heaven—but the young man departs sorrowfully because of his wealth. The narrative continues with Jesus warning people against the hypocrisy of the Scribes and Pharisees, who burden others while failing to practice what they preach. The section concludes with the Passion, showing Jesus being scourged and crowned with thorns by Roman soldiers, his crucifixion between two thieves at Calvary, and one of the thieves recognizing him as the Son of God and asking for remembrance in paradise, to which Jesus responds, "Today you shall be with me in Paradise."
