This issue contains multiple stories. One story depicts Father Judge's efforts to establish a Catholic school in Alabama in 1915-1916, overcoming local bigotry and resistance by founding an educational institution at Phenix City that serves children despite threats from hostile groups. Another story follows a young musician named Franz who encounters a theater manager seeking someone to compose music for a comic opera; after struggling with various musical approaches, Franz eventually succeeds in creating a composition about a storm at sea that impresses his patron.
